Designed for complete beginners through to experienced artists\, the course offers a welcoming and supportive space to experiment with colour\, texture\, symbolism and intuitive mark-making while creating a deeply personal work of art. \nAcross seven weeks you’ll gradually create an original Abstract Self or Soul Portrait\, exploring colour\, texture\, symbolism and intuitive mark-making as you build a richly layered personal artwork. \nEach week’s activities encourage imagination\, spontaneity and creative confidence while providing inspiration for the final stages of the Soul Portrait. \nThroughout the course\, tutor Jordan Harcourt-Hughes will be sharing a curated selection of contemporary abstract and spiritual painters who have influenced her own artistic practice. You’ll get the chance to consider how they use colour\, symbolism\, texture and abstraction to communicate ideas that can’t always be expressed through words and explore new techniques in your own artworks. \nRather than focusing on artistic perfection\, the course invites you to enjoy the process of exploration.
