I’ve been an Usui Reiki Master for over 25 years and have taught 100’s of students the world over.
Reiki healing is an easy-to-learn, hands-on healing discipline. Reiki Level One is designed to be straightforward enough that anyone can learn it. It is not for professional use. It is a tool for self-healing and healing family and friends.

Reiki gives the body energy to heal itself. It will support emotional and mental peace. Giving space for clarity to be achieved. It is exceptionally useful for pain management and injury recovery. I love to teach Reiki because I am giving someone the gift of empowerment. To see them realize that from now, wherever they are if they get hurt, they have the skills to help themselves. There is great power in that. It’s like never being alone in a crisis, ever again.

I teach Reiki One in a one-day workshop of 5 to 8 students. This number allows you enough people to practice on and to gain confidence by the time the day is complete.

For Reiki One training to be possible, I need to give each person two “Attunements”. A “Reiki Attunement” is like receiving healing. You sit in a chair. I will stand behind you and give each of your chakras a blessing. This blessing is what opens your energy up for the Reiki Healing energy to flow through. This is why Reiki training must be done in person to be Reiki. Long-distance attunements are different healing energy. Not necessarily bad, just not traditional Reiki. Reiki attunements will give you a 21-day clearing of anything of a negative nature out of your life.

Reiki Healing must be done with an energy of integrity and respect. I will be checking that you understand this fully. This is the only part of the course that you can “fail”. The issues you would fail on are not hard, you would fail because of a choice of ethical behaviour. I have never had to fail a Reiki One student yet, however, it is important to me that we uphold a high level of honour within the community of Reiki healers. Ideally, I get people to come to see me on the days before the workshop for their attunements, so as not to use up our teaching time.
